Pastoral Care

The parish clergy are always delighted to visit any parishioner by arrangement, and we are also happy to visit parishioners in hospital or residential homes. The person concerned does not need to be a regular church member for the parish clergy to visit them. The parish clergy are also available to bring Holy Communion to the housebound, pray for the sick in their homes, and bring the sacrament to those who are close to death. We are generally available to anyone who is in any kind of need and wants to speak confidentially to a priest.

Spirituality

We offer numerous ways in which people can deepen their spiritual lives and draw closer to the divine mystery which is the Living God.

Parish Quiet Days

Visits are arranged regularly to the Holy Cross Convent at Rempstone, Edenham and Launde Abbey retreat houses, as well as weekend pilgrimages to the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham. Other events include: Holy Hour of Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary group, spiritual direction and sacramental confession (further details from the parish clergy), silent prayer at Sunday evensong (6:30pm), and Holy Eucharist on Tuesdays at 6:30pm and Thursdays at 10:00am.

Open Church

Staffed by volunteers, St Nicholas Church, Fleckney is open every weekday morning in term time from 10am – 12noon for anyone wishing to pop in for private prayer, to light a candle or just enjoy a time of peace in the beautiful surroundings of our mediaeval church.
