The Wistow Benefice
Fleckney, Kilby, Newton Harcourt and Wistow

Funerals

The arrangements for funeral services, burial of the dead, interment of cremated remains or the erection of gravestones and memorials in the churchyard, are usually made by the funeral director on behalf of the family. A fee is usually charged.

The churchyards at Fleckney, Kilby, and Newton Harcourt are still open but certain restrictions apply. Wistow churchyard is no longer open to burials. The parish clergy will always try to visit the bereaved prior to and after funeral services. The departed are remembered in prayers at services in church around the time of death. This is because Christians believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and his promise of the gift of eternal life for those that live and die in faith in His love and mercy.
